Pour 1 cup boiling water over half of the lime-flavored gelatin in a glass measuring cup; stir until dissolved

Stir in 1/2 cup tequila

Pour lime and tequila mixture 1/3 of the way up twelve 2-ounce cups

Refrigerate until set, about 4 hours

Combine 1/2 cup boiling water and orange gelatin mixes in glass measuring cup; stir until dissolved

Stir triple sec into orange gelatin mixture

Remove cups from the refrigerator

Pour an orange gelatin layer about half as tall as the lime layer into each cup
